Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (June 28)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The heat wave is upon us, as high pressure will continue to strengthen and build into the weekend.

You can expect valley temperatures to reach near 105 degrees and desert temperatures to reach past 110.

Excessive heat warnings go into effect Friday morning and run through Sunday night.

Temperatures in the LA basin have been pumped up a bit with a lack of marine influence, so residents along the coast and coastal plain may be impacted greatly by this event if they don't have air conditioning.

There will be some patchy dense fog right at the beach, which may help to moderate temperatures. However, where that cloud cover has cleared out it will be quite warm.

The worst of this event will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We stay warm through Monday and Tuesday as well.

Right now, there is some early indication that monsoonal development will pop into the forecast on Tuesday, but it's still a little early to tell. At the very least, we will see some cumulus clouds bubbling up on Friday and Saturday.

Basin - low 90s
Beaches - low 80s
Valleys - 100 to 104
Mountains - mid 80s
Deserts - 105 to 108
