WESTMINSTER (CBSLA.com) — A 27-year-old man was arrested Friday after allegedly trying to lure a 6-year-old boy out of the water at Seal Beach.

KCAL9’s Michele Gile reported that Salvador Sanchez, of Hawaiian Gardens, was booked for attempted kidnapping and is being held on $250,000 bail.

The suspect was nabbed Friday afternoon after a resident witnessed disturbing behavior near a group of children.

“When she watched him go into the water with jeans on and shoes, it definitely raised her suspicions, which were instinctual, I believe. At which time she saw him escort the young child out of the water, down toward the beach,” said Sgt. Steve Bowles of the Seal Beach Police Department.

The witness, along with other beach visitors, alerted lifeguards. Police were able to locate Sanchez soon afterwards.

Authorities said they want Sanchez’s picture circulated in an attempt to find other possible victims.
