Coroner IDs Woman Killed In Santa Ana Police Shooting

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — The Orange County Coroner's office has identified a female suspect who died following an officer-involved shooting in Santa Ana.

Jessica Gonzalez, 35, was shot by a Santa Ana Police officer in the 800 block of S. Townsend at around 8 a.m. Sunday.

Police opened fire on Gonzalez after an officer encountered her in an alley and saw her with what appeared to be a gun, according to police. It was later learned that a replica firearm was located near Gonzalez's body after the shooting.

Gonzalez had been wanted by police in the city of Orange in connection with the murder of her longtime partner, Jennifer Solario, after shouting was heard inside their shared home.

"They were always out, [Solario] was always walking around, smoking a cigarette, walking her dog, just pretty much talking to everyone around here," Solario's neighbor Kevin Sandobal said.
