Santa Ana Man, 46, Identified As Body Found In Brea Trash Can

BREA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities have identified the body of a man found Friday in a Brea trash can.

Officials identified the body as 46-year-old Jose Ramiro Baez Paredes of Santa Ana. Police said the deceased was also known as Ramiro Baez Parades.

The trash can was left on the side of Brea Canyon Road.

Parades' cause of death has not yet been determined, according to Lt. Jerry Brakebill.

A murder investigation is on going.

A motorist noticed the container on the south side of the street, just south of Tonner Canyon Road, for more than a week and decided yesterday to check it out. When the motorist saw the body inside, he or she called police at 3:08 p.m.

Police closed off Brea Canyon Road from Central Avenue to Tonner Canyon Road during the investigation.

Authorities urged anyone with information about the homicide to call Brea Police Detective Rueben Alonzo at (714) 990-7637.
