As of 1 p.m., crews reported that the two right lanes of the southbound freeway from Gavin Canyon to the 14 Freeway interchange were shut until further notice.

The so-called Coltrane Fire broke out just after noon near the freeway.

No structures were threatened.

Fire officials reported that the flames were burning near the Oak Tree Gun Club.  The fire was holding at 9 acres and moving in a northeast direction.

The blaze eventually charred 15 acres but was knocked down in two hours.

At least one additional fire has erupted off the 5 Freeway before Templin Highway. The Los Angeles County Fire Department says that fire is estimated at 2 to 3 acres. No structures are currently threatened.
