Bicyclist, 57, Dies In Collision With Passenger Van

CARSON ( — A 57-year-old bicyclist was killed Wednesday after colliding with a passenger van in Carson.

The incident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. at the intersection of Avalon and Gardena boulevards, according to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office.

Lt. Arthur Escamillas told City News Service the bicyclist was declared dead at the scene.

The victim, whose identity has not been released, is believed to be a Carson resident. It remains unclear if he was wearing a helmet.

The driver of the van remained at the scene.

No further injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing.
