Police Recover $200K In Items Stolen From OC Storage Facility

HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are trying to return more than $200,000 worth of recovered items that were stolen from an Orange County storage facility last month.

KNX 1070's Mike Landa reports that jewelery, bicycles, and even bongo drums were among the items stolen from an Extra Space Storage Facility on McFadden Avenue, in a string of reported burglaries at the end of May.

Police Trying To Return $200K In Stolen Items

Huntington Beach resident Lisa Sanford, 42, Westminster resident James Hayes, 47, and 45-year-old John McGowen of Seal Beach were arrested in connection with the thefts, after a moving truck containing the stolen property was found parked at one of the suspect's homes.

With the suspects in custody, police are trying to find the owners of the stolen property.

According to authorities, it is likely that most owners are unaware that their storage units were broken into and their property is missing. Huntington Beach police have posted a photo album of the items on their Facebook page.

Once the case is adjudicated, any unclaimed items will be auctioned off.
