2 Killed In Crash Involving Motorcycle, Minivan In Long Beach
LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Two people were killed Monday in an accident involving a minivan and a motorcycle in Long Beach.
The crash was reported around 6:10 a.m. at Wardlow Road and Norwalk Boulevard after a CHP officer started pursuing a motorcyclist who was speeding on the 605 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
During the chase, the man exited the freeway and broadsided a white minivan, which caused the motorcycle to burst into flames, officials said.
The man and a 60-year-old woman driving the van were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The intersection was shut down while officials investigated.
