Lakers’ Howard Wants To Play With Clippers’ Paul; Kobe Wants 2 More Titles
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) – The two top free agents of all of the NBA Clippers’ Chris Paul and Lakers’ Dwight Howard may want to play together next season, according to an ESPN report.
League sources also say Howard and Paul would prefer to play for the Clippers, but to get Howard, it would have to be a sign-and-trade with the Lakers.
Chris Paul and Dwight Howard have been in consistent contact recently about the possibility of becoming teammates next season, according to league sources.
Paul and Howard will be the biggest free agents on the market this summer, and their desire is to play together, the sources said.
“They would love to play together if somebody can make it happen,” one of the sources said.
The Atlanta Hawks could make it happen. Atlanta, which is Howard’s hometown, has the cap room to sign both players to maximum-salaried contracts.
Howard is not particularly fond of the idea of returning to Atlanta, but he would do so to team up with Paul, the sources said. [ESPN]
The free agency begins July 1st and all eyes will be on Howard and CP3.
As for team Lakers captain Kobe Bryant, his comeback from achilles injury will be known as, “the last chapter” of his career.
According to reports, he wants two more shots at winning two NBA titles(7), which would make it one more than Jordan’s 6.
Bryant is hopeful that he will be ready to play by start of next season
