Police Search For Man Who Bound, Gagged Woman During Home Invasion Robbery

LOS ALAMITOS (CBSLA.com) —Police are looking for a man who allegedly bound and gagged a 21-year-old woman after breaking into her Los Alamitos apartment early Friday morning.

The incident happened around 2 a.m. at a two-story apartment complex in the 3800 block of Howard Avenue.

Authorities said the man hit the victim on the head, which caused her to lose consciousness. He then tied her up and placed her face-down on her couch.

The woman, however, managed to escape.

The suspect fled with the victim's purse, computer and keys.

Another female resident was in an upstairs bedroom during the reported attack, but was unaware of the situation.

The suspect was described as a white man in his 30s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 170 pounds. He was wearing a light-colored sweatshirt and beanie, along with glasses and gloves.

Anyone with information on the crime was urged to contact Dan Brandt of the Los Alamitos Detective Bureau at (562) 431-2255, ext. 406.
