Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (June 11)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — A small ridge of high pressure is building into the west today...that's going to squash the marine layer down just a bit.

This will give us some warmer temperatures away from the beach.  However, at the coast, the marine layer will be shallow but dense and may hang for a bit through the day.  That will keep temperatures in check right at the coast.

Otherwise a big trough will develop tomorrow and the rest of the week putting us back into the June Gloom.

Temperatures will back off a couple of degrees to just below average for this time of year.

By next week a ridge is going to bubble up from the south and may heat things up.  The placement of the high is generally what we expect for the summer and may indicate monsoonal storms are around the corner.  We'll see.

Basin -mid 70s

Beaches - upper 60s to low 70s

Valleys - low 80s

Mountains - upper 60s

Deserts -upper 80s to low 90s
