A visit to a cemetery may seem a bit dark, however, when it is the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, it’s actually a fascinating walk through Hollywood history. Since 1899 the most famous and important names in Hollywood have been buried at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and you can pay a visit in tribute to so many of your favorite classic Hollywood icons.

The Hollywood Forever Cemetery was built in 1899 and it was a huge part of the growth of Hollywood. The iconic Paramount Studios was built on the back half of the original cemetery, where it still sits today. You can see the famous Paramount Water Tower from the cemetery; in fact, you can see the Hollywood Sign as well. And just who will you be able to pay your respects to when you visit this cemetery? Johnny Ramone, Douglas Fairbanks (both senior and junior,) Cecil B. DeMille, Jayne Mansfield, Mel Blanc, George Harrison, Hattie McDaniel and so many more actors, directors, producers and writers are buried here.

As you tour through the cemetery, you’ll notice something that truly sets this destination apart. There are touch screen consoles located throughout the cemetery for visitors to watch different LifeStories of the people that are buried here. These LifeStories are short videos made from videos, film clips, articles and other contributed memories, and truly help to capture the lives of the many people that are resting in the beautiful grounds.

Hollywood Forever Cemetery is also a very busy community location. There are a lot of different cultural events that take place here, including live music and a summer movie screening series. You can also find different annual events happening here at the Cemetery, like the annual festival celebrating Dia De Los Muertos with lots of music, dance, arts and crafts, as well as stunning altars and other traditional cultural items.

A visit to this cemetery is a great way to pay tribute to some of your favorite fallen stars, as well as learn about the many people that have had a huge affect on the city of Hollywood, the entertainment industry, the people of the state of California and the world. So for a great tour like this, make sure you arrive at the destination in comfort and elegance. Take the 2013 GL450 SUV from Mercedes-Benz of Encino. It is the perfect car for a trip like this because you can fit all your friends and family, with plenty of leg room and lots of comfort as you arrive at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in true luxury.
