DA Wants Singer Chris Brown To Redo Community Service In Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Singer Chris Brown appeared in court Monday morning for a probation violation hearing in connection with a 2009 assault charge involving fellow singer and on-again, off-again girlfriend, Rihanna.

Monday's hearing was set to determine whether Brown lied about his court-ordered 180-day sentence of community service.

According to court documents, while he was supposed to be completing his community service in Virginia, Brown was on vacation in Mexico at one point and, in another instance, was at a charity event in another state.

The Los Angeles District Attorney is asking the judge to order Brown to redo all 180 days of his community service in Los Angeles.

Brown is scheduled to return to court on July 15.
