Coroner Identifies 92-Year-Old Woman Fatally Struck By Truck

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Coroner's Office Sunday identified the 92-year-old woman who was fatally struck as she tried to cross a Hancock Park street two days ago.

Alice Talamantes, a resident of Azusa, was killed Friday about 3:55 p.m., said Coroner's Lt. Joe Bale.

Talamantes was trying to cross the intersection of Third Street and La Brea Avenue, said a police sergeant with the Los Angeles Police Department's West Traffic Division.

She had made it about 10 feet from the Third Street curb and was in the crosswalk heading north on La Brea Avenue when she was struck by a northbound white 1983 Peterbilt truck, the police sergeant said.

Paramedics rushed Talamantes to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

She was pronounced dead at 5:35 p.m. Friday, he said.

The driver of the truck was not arrested or cited.
