Shooting Suspect Barricades Himself In Ontario Home

ONTARIO (CBSLA.com) — Police were in a standoff Friday with a shooting suspect who had barricaded himself inside his Ontario home.

Officers were called around 10 p.m. Thursday to North Benson Avenue and West H Street after the man reportedly approached a group of neighbors and began shooting at them.

"He said the neighbor just came out when they were all hanging out and he tried to shoot them twice in the head," a neighbor said.

When the police arrived, the suspect, who had holed himself inside his home, fired at least one shot at them.

After an eight-hour standoff, the man was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. A handgun was located nearby.

No other injuries were reported.
