Behind The Scenes Of The Broadway Musical 'Priscilla Queen Of The Desert'

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) —KCAL9's Suzanne Marques went behind the scenes of the Broadway hit "Priscilla Queen of the Desert," which is currently at the Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles.

The musical, inspired by the 1994 movie, is about a group of friends aboard a magical bus (named Priscilla) who are in search of love and friendship.

"It's an adventurous story about three friends who take a road trip across the outback in Australia and make all sorts of discoveries," said Wade McCollum (Tick/Mitzi).

Along the way, the characters sing, dance and do countless (outrageous) costume changes, including a jacket covered with Barbie's face and a dress made of flip-flops.

"And the music, everybody knows every song. It's a mixture of disco, pop, we have Madonna, Donna Summer, you name it," said Bryan West (Adam/Felicia).

Joe Hart, who plays Bob, told Marques his favorite moment of the entire show.

"I guess the story of the father and the son. Tick is going to meet his son for the first time...that's kinda the impetus for them to take the journey. It's when they meet and the son accepts his father for who he is. It's a wonderful story, really heartfelt, a beautiful moment on stage," he said.

"Priscilla Queen of the Desert" is onstage through next Sunday.

Tickets start at $25.
