Los Angeles is home to a bustling and vibrant arts and cultural scene. One of the many wonderful smaller theatrical organizations is the Frida Kahlo Theater, which is a theater dedicated to bringing live performances in both English and Spanish, while telling stories that are of significance to the large Latino population in Los Angeles.
The Frida Kahlo Theater, named for one of the most famous Mexican painters of all time, has been providing live theater, arts and classes since 1994. There is a large variety of different types of shows you can enjoy at this important cultural destination. You can catch many different plays from Latino playwrights, performed by an impressive ensemble of actors and actresses. There is also a large dedication to telling other stories, anecdotes and lectures that are of significance to the Latino community as well as the rest of California.
One of the more popular performances has been the theater’s presentation of “Frida Kahlo,” written and directed by Ruben Amavizca-Murua, which is a production that centers on the life an art of the Mexican artist. The show, like everything performed at this lovely space, is performed on different days in both Spanish and English. In addition, there is also a great variety of classes offered for children and adults offered at the Frida Kahlo Theater. You can find classes on drawing, art and animation or theatrical workshops, all of which are also offered in English and Spanish.
A visit to the Frida Kahlo Theater can be a vibrant and important look at the Latino community and their rich tradition of art and performance. It is located conveniently near the corner of Fourth Street and Grand View, and makes a great destination for tourists and locals alike. On your way to the theater, why not drive in style and head there in the 2013 E350 Cabriolet from Mercedes-Benz of Encino? Arriving in style and traveling in comfort will help make this trip into something truly special.
