NORTH HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Police Tuesday partially evacuated a hospital in North Hills due to reports of a man with a gun in the area.

The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a call at 8:42 a.m. at the Veterans Administration Sepulveda Ambulatory Care Center in the 16000 block of Plummer Street.

A volunteer at the hospital reportedly saw a man carrying a gun with a silencer walking on the campus. LAPD says two witnesses described a man with gray hair.

The first three floors of the building were evacuated as a precaution while police searched the building and underground tunnels, officials said.

Nearby Vintage Magnet School was placed on lockdown from 9:20 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. while police investigated.

Officials deemed the area all clear around 1:55 p.m.

No injuries were reported and no shots were fired.
