Man, 26, Pleads Not Guilty In Stabbing Death Of Girlfriend's Young Son

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A 26-year-old Los Angeles man pleaded not guilty Tuesday in the fatal stabbing of his girlfriend's 11-year-old son on Memorial Day.

Rineson Curtis Adams faces one count of murder with a special allegation of personal use of a deadly and dangerous weapon. He also faces one count of felony child abuse.

The suspect allegedly used a knife on May 27 to stab the boy, who was identified as "Jai L." in the criminal complaint.

Adams also reportedly has three prior felony convictions, including one for burglary in 1996 and two convictions for transportation and sale of a controlled substance in 1996 and 2008.

The suspect is due back in court June 21.
