Ex-Verizon Worker Suspected Of Stealing Pain Pills From Elderly Victims

MENIFEE (CBSLA.com) — Police are seeking information from residents about a former Verizon services installer suspected of burglarizing at least two homes.

Marisa Lee Heim-Davis, 32, is believed to have entered at least two residences in Menifee to provide installation and/or repair services in 2012 and 2013, according to reports.

Detectives with the Menifee Police Department say Heim-Davis stole hundreds of prescribed Vicodin and Norco pain medications belonging to elderly victims while inside the residences.

The suspect may have disabled Verizon services in order to cause the victims to allow her into their homes for equipment testing or to make any needed repairs, police said.

It was during those visits that police believe Heim-Davis used the victims' restrooms for extended periods of time. Upon her leaving each residence, victims would then realize their medication had been stolen, police said.

CBS2's Adrianna Weingold says the victims are reportedly a single 85-year-old female and a Madrid couple, both 82 years old. All victims are believed to live in the central Sun City area.

Heim-Davis is expected to face charges of elder abuse, burglary and theft, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Police urged elderly citizens and all residents to call a company supervisor and verify identification if there is any doubt about someone requesting to enter their residence.

Anyone with information on Heim-Davis or any other theft involving similar scams were asked to contact Menifee Police Detective Tom Salisbury at (951)210-1046.
