Dodgers Place Capuano on Disabled List

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com/AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers have placed pitcher Chris Capuano on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday because of a left shoulder strain.

Shortstop Hanley Ramirez was reinstated from the DL and started against San Diego on Tuesday night.

He made three rehab starts for Class-A Rancho Cucamonga after being on the DL since May 4 with a strained left hamstring. Ramirez had previously appeared in just four games with the Dodgers this season.

He missed the first 25 games of the season while recovering from right thumb surgery after getting hurt playing for the Dominican Republic in the World Baseball Classic title game.

Capuano is 1-4 with a 5.45 ERA in eight games this season.

Originally thinking it was a triceps strain, Capuano suffered the injury during his last start, in Anaheim.

Stephen Fife was recalled to replace Capuano in the rotation, and he got his first major league win on Monday.
