2 Men Wanted In Armed Robbery At U.S. Bank Branch In Santa Ana

SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Tuesday were searching for two men in connection with an armed robbery at a U.S. Bank branch in Santa Ana.

Officials say a masked man with a gun came into the bank at 2740 N. Grand Ave. at 9:40 a.m. He then announced the robbery while his accomplice stood guard at the entrance.

No injuries were reported.

The men fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, reportedly losing cash as they fled out of a side door and jumped over the carport of an apartment complex.

"I just found a bunch of $50 bills just floating around in two yards here," said neighborhood resident Don Webb, who lives in the Fairhaven neighborhood of Santa Ana.

Webb, who is the president of the Fairhaven Home Owner's Association, called authorities.

Police say members of Orange County's Bank Robbery Task Force collected thousands in stolen cash in the surrounding neighborhood.

"The loss was substantial," said Sergeant Jose Gonzalez with the Santa Ana Police Department. "The would not provide an amount but they did offer up to $10,000 reward."

The suspects remain at large Tuesday night.
