Dodgers Select Peter Moylan's Contract, Option Javy Guerra
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles Dodgers Friday announced that the team has selected the contract of Peter Moylan, a right-handed reliever from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Following Thursday night's game, during which the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim beat the Dodgers 3-2 to split the Freeway Series, the Dodgers also optioned Javy Guerra to Albuquerque.
Moylan had been assigned to the Albuquerque Isotopes after the Dodgers signed him to a minor league deal back in January.
He had a 3.52 ERA in 17 appearances with the team this season.
"Moylan, 34, posted a 1.80 ERA in eight games with the Braves last year and is 20-9 with four saves and a 2.59 ERA in 295 career relief appearances all with Atlanta from 2006-2012," the Dodgers said in a statement.
