Get out of the city and head to the mountains for some fresh California powder. Mountain High Ski Resort is one of the most popular of all the ski areas in Southern California, and it is the best place to enjoy a day (or three) on the slopes. Since 1924 this bustling ski resort has been offering up great skiing, snowboarding, lessons and more, pleasing snow-bunnies of all ages.
Plan ahead and you can enjoy a fantastic day of skiing or snowboarding at Mountain High. You can get all your gear on the mountain, or bring your own from home. Rentals are available and you can get lessons for every age and every experience level. There are classes for children, classes for adults, and there is even a class specifically for women over 30 learning to snowboard. All classes are taught by pros that really know what they are doing––they’ll have you skiing and snowboarding like an expert in no time.
For beginners, there are lots of easier trails to hit at resorts all over the Mountain High Resort. If you’re an expert looking for a challenge, then check out one of the many black diamond runs that are scattered throughout the area. There are enough trails that you can go again and again and enjoy a different run every time.
If skiing isn’t your thing, there is also a tubing park in the area – the North Pole Tubing Park and it is the largest of its kind in Southern California. It has 10 different lanes with two moving carpets and custom tubes, so you know it’s sure to be a great time.
Weather you are bringing your gear from home, or renting it on the mountain, you’ll want the right car for a trip like this. That is the ML550 SUV from Mercedes-Benz of Encino. If you are bringing your own gear, you’ll have plenty of room for all your skis, boards, boots and other equipment plus room for you and your family. Or just enjoy the luxurious ride up the mountain in the elegant ride that Mercedes-Benz provides.
