Decorated Soldier Reunited With Family During Rose Parade
PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — A decorated soldier originally from Michigan was reunited with his family Tuesday in a heartwarming moment captured by cameras and witnessed by millions during the 124th Tournament of Roses Parade. Army Sgt. First Class Eric Pazz was riding on the “Canines of Courage” float sponsored by Natural Balance Pet Foods Tuesday when he was reunited with his wife Miriam and four-year-old son, Eric Jr. Both were watching the parade from the grandstands after winning seats. They were under the impression that 32-year-old Pazz, who was deployed, was still in Afghanistan. Video of the parade shows the heartwarming scene as Eric Jr. runs toward his father and the announcer says, “he sees Daddy. he had no idea.” After the reunion, his family joined him on the float for the remainder of the parade.

CALABASAS (CBSLA.com)  Singer Justin Bieber was under investigation Tuesday for allegedly driving recklessly inside his exclusive gated community in the west San Fernando Valley.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received several complaints Monday night about Bieber driving his white Ferrari at high rates of speed through The Oaks in Calabasas, officials said.

“He was seen driving through the streets erratically,” said Sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore. “He would slam on his brakes; he would then speed up.”

According to authorities, Bieber was driving at freeway speeds in a community with a 25mph speed limit.

No injuries were reported in the incident, but the singer was allegedly confronted by fellow Oaks resident Keyshawn Johnson who was driving with his child in a Prius, TMZ reported.

The site says the NFL star then chased the singer in his car and blocked his driveway, getting out of his car to confront Bieber.

According to TMZ, the singer then went into his home and refused to come out.

Calabasas resident and NFL Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson also acknowledged Bieber’s alleged speeding on Twitter:

“I’ve had Ferraris,” Dickerson told KCAL9’s Bobby Kaple. “I’ve had 3 of them, and those are some fast, powerful cars.”

“Kids can come out of nowhere; I mean they can dart across the street, dart in front of you,” he said.

In another alleged confrontation earlier this year, the Sheriff’s Department said Bieber spit on a neighbor when he was confronted about his erratic driving.

Investigators will present their findings to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office as a misdemeanor case. It is up to the DA to file charges against the young singer.

Bieber declined to speak with deputies about the incident Monday night on the advice of his attorney.
