CANOGA PARK (CBSLA.com) — Canoga Park will commemorate Memorial Day once again this year!

The event includes a parade, 5K run/walk and car show. Ceremonies begin at 10:30 a.m. The parade, themed “Saluting the Price of Freedom”, will begin at 11 a.m.

“In the past there have been about 20,000 to 25,000 people lining the streets of Canoga Park,” Nora Ross, executive director of the Canoga Park/West Hills Chamber of Commerce, told KNX1070.

“It’s to commemorate those who gave the ultimate sacrifice and we look forward to honoring those individuals,” Ross said.

The 5K run/walk begins at Sherman Way and De Sota Ave. The money from those participating will be donated to non-profit organizations.

The parade will being at Sherman Way and Owensmouth and end at the First Baptist Church where the car show will take place from noon to 4 p.m.
