1 Dead, 1 Wounded In Possible Shooting Between Father And Son In Palmdale

PALMDALE (CBSLA.com) — A shooting Saturday between two family members -- possibly a father and son --  in Palmdale has left them possibly both wounded and in surgery at a hospital, a sheriff's lieutenant said.

Late Saturday, the Sheriff's Department corrected an earlier report and said one of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene.

The gunfire was reported at 7:46 p.m. in the 5600 block of Magda Court, according to Lt. Belinda Johnson of the Palmdale Sheriff's Station.

"We know family members were involved," Johnson said. The two victims possibly shot each other, she said, but said investigators would not be able to talk to the victims until they are out of surgery.

Early unconfirmed reports said a 70-something father shot his 40-something son and vice versa. It was also not clear who shot who first or which one of the men was deceased.
