Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (May 24)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The upper level low pressure system over the Pacific Northwest has not moved much at all.

As we make our way into this holiday weekend, you can expect more of the same.  The marine layer is a little more patchy than yesterday.  However we can still expect some clouds in the morning and sunshine for the afternoon.

Even with daytime highs slightly below average, the afternoons have been quite nice.  The trough lifts slightly for today.  That will translate into a tiny bump in the temperatures.  Otherwise there is not much fluctuation in our extended forecast.

Monday we may see temperatures drop down a touch as the west coast trough intensifies.  That may also encourage the winds to become more prevalent on Memorial Day.

This pattern remains in place until late next week when we are expecting more of a warm up.

Basin - low 70s

Beaches - upper 60s

Valleys - upper 70s to near 80

Mountains - mid 60s

Deserts - low 80s
