Josh Rubenstein's Weather Forecast (May 22)

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — The on-shore flow continues to strengthen and we will see just a little bit more cooling today.

The marine layer has thickened up and there are some reports of spotty drizzle.  The on-shore flow has strengthened and the winds will be kicking up later today.

An advisory is in place for the high desert from 3 p.m. to early Thursday morning.

This pattern will continue through the end of the week and into the weekend.

A trough has parked itself over the west coast and waves of energy continue to rotate through it.  There will be minor fluctuations in temperature as the trough lifts slightly and then deepens again.

However, we should remain below the average of 75 degrees.

Right now it looks like Memorial Day will be just like the days leading up, cloudy in the morning and hazy in the afternoon.  Highs running in the 70s to low 80s.

Basin - low 70s

Beaches - upper 60s

Valleys - upper 70s

Mountains - mid 60s

Deserts - low 80s
