Four Samurai Swords Stolen In Claremont Smash-And-Grab
CLAREMONT (CBSLA.com) — Four swords were stolen from a Claremont martial arts studio late Monday or early Tuesday, in the most recent episode of a string of smash-and-grab burglaries in the Foothill Corridor.
Burglars broke into a martial arts studio in Claremont and stole four samurai swords after the studio was closed.
The swords, which are worth a few hundred dollars at most, were the only items stolen.
Studio owner Maria Brandt said some were only for display.
Swords would have to be modified and sharpened in order to be dangerous.
Claremont Police said the burglary is the latest in a string of smash-and-grab incidents along the Foothill Corridor in the last 45 days.
Other targets have included a restaurant, dentist office and liquor store.
La Verne and Upland have also been hit.
It is unclear if any of the burglaries are connected.
