Small Brush Fire Breaks Out Near Golf Course In Burbank

BURBANK (CBSLA.com) — A brush fire that broke out near a golf course in Burbank was expected to be contained by Monday evening, authorities said.

The fire was reported around 12:40 p.m. near the DeBell Golf Club at 1500 E. Walnut Avenue, according to the Burbank Fire Department.

The blaze had grown to as large as 20 acres by 1:30 p.m., according to reports.

Flames were seen moving into medium-to-light brush with very light winds in the area, but firefighters soon gained the upper hand and kept the fire to about one acre in sizes.

No evacuations were ordered. Golfers that were already on the green were allowed to continue playing through, but no additional golfers were allowed on the course, according to reports.

No structures were threatened.

There was no immediate information on what caused the fire.
