Man Accused Of Murdering His Father Apprehended

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — A man wanted for allegedly shooting his father in the head Thursday evening has been apprehended.

Sheriff's Homicide detectives report that 31-year-old Juan Alexander Mejia Dubon, wanted for the murder of his father -- Canyon Country resident Juan Mejia -- has been taken into custody.

Santa Clarita Valley (SCV) Sheriff's deputies conducted a traffic stop Saturday afternoon on a vehicle being driven by the suspect. Dubon was taken into custody without incident.

Officials said no weapons were recovered.

Dubon is charged with murder and was booked at the SCV Sheriff's Station. Dubon is being held in lieu of $1,000,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in the San Fernando Court on Monday, May 20.
