SANTA ANA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Friday said a 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of breaking into a Santa Ana church and pilfering about $15,000 from a safe.

Santa Ana police Cpl. Anthony Bertagna says Daniel Cortes was arrested following a short chase.

Cortes was identified from a tip police received allegedly as one of three suspects wanted in connection with the May 1 break-in at Forty Martyrs Armenian Church on W. McFadden Avenue.

Bertagna said some of the goods that were allegedly stolen have since been found.

Two suspects remain outstanding.

The first was described as a medium-build, white male with a bald head and mustache. He is believed to be between 40 to 45 years of age.

The second suspect, a Hispanic male with a goatee and a thin build, is believed to be between 35 to 40 years old.
