Man Detained After Leaving Suitcase In McDonald’s Restaurant

SHERMAN OAKS (CBSLA.com) — A man was being questioned by police Friday after allegedly leaving a suspicious item inside a Sherman Oaks fast food restaurant.

Los Angeles police responded to a McDonald’s in the 13900 block of Ventura Boulevard around 11:30 a.m., according to LAPD Officer Christopher No.

A man walked into the restaurant, put down a black suitcase and walked out, police said. The restaurant was evacuated, and a suspect was detained.

A bomb squad was sent to the scene to whether the item is explosive.

Ventura Boulevard between Hazeltine and Van Nuys was closed off to traffic.
