Possible Grenades Found In Backyard Of Culver City Home

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Thursday were working to identify suspicious items found in the backyard of a Culver City home.

A family moving into a house in the 4300 block of Purdue Avenue found the devices, which resemble grenades, in a hole in their backyard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Nearby homes were being evacuated and a bomb squad was responding to the scene.

The following streets remained closed:

Purdue Avenue
Washington Boulevard
Corinth Avenue
Berryman Avenue

No other details were immediately available.
