Bicyclist, 44, Killed In Northridge Hit-And-Run

NORTHRIDGE (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are searching Thursday for a hit-and-run driver who killed a bicyclist in the San Fernando Valley.

The accident happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Roscoe and Balboa boulevards in Northridge, the Los Angeles Police Department said.

Police did not release details about how the accident occurred, only saying that the victim --44-year-old Max De La Cruz of Van Nuys-- died at Northridge Hospital Medical Center.

"The hit and run vehicle was described as a white truck, possibly a Chevrolet or GMC, with cargo in the bed with possible collision damage to the front end," police said in a statement.
