Former 4th Grade Teacher Ordered To Stand Trial On Sex Abuse Charges

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — A former elementary school teacher has been ordered to stand trial on 14 charges of sexually assaulting nine students and a relative.

Robert Pimentel was a fourth-grade teacher at George De La Torre Elementary School in Wilmington when he was arrested in January on six counts of continuous sexual abuse and eight counts of lewd acts upon a child, according to the Los Angeles District Attorney.

The 57-year-old, who is being held on $14 million bail, will be arraigned on May 28.
