Deputies Step Up Patrols At Yorba Linda Parks, Sports Fields

YORBA LINDA (CBSLA.com) — Deputies have stepped up patrols at Yorba Linda parks and planned to have high visibility at sports fields following a report of a possible child annoyance or attempted child abduction.

The alleged incident happened about 8:30 p.m. on May 7, at Veteran's Park.

Investigators say the father of an 11-year-old non-communicative girl with autism lost sight of her as he was watching his son's soccer practice.

The child was soon seen in the playground with another adult who reportedly ran off when the girl's father called her name, according to authorities.

Authorities say that while it's unclear if the person actually committed or planned to commit a crime, an investigation into the incident is under way.
