Current Mega Millions, Powerball Jackpots Combine For $520M

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) —  Dream big.

The current Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots are a combined, whopping, mind-altering, $520 million.

No tickets matched all six numbers in Friday's Mega Millions drawing.  The numbers drawn Friday were 1, 19, 20, 39, 49 and the Mega number was 28. The estimated jackpot was $154 million.

No one in California matched a 5/5 ticket. Six players did have four numbers and the Mega. Each of those tickets is worth $13,395, according to the California Lottery website.

The jackpot for Tuesday's draw will grow to $170 million.

Meanwhile, a $270 million Powerball jackpot was up for grabs Saturday. No one matched all six numbers in this contest.

Numbers chosen Saturday were 6, 13, 19, 23, 43 and the Powerball was 16. Three tickets in California matched 5/5 and failed to get the Powerball number. Each of those tickets (sold in Petaluma, Cameron Park and Pasadena -- Foothill 76, 3275 E. Foothill Boulevard) will each pocket $573,694.

The jackpot in next Wednesday's draw is an estimated $350 million.

The Mega Millions game is played in 42 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  The Mega Millions jackpot starts at $12 million and climbs every time there is no winner. The record jackpot went to $640 million in April 2012.

Powerball is played in 43 states, Washington D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Powerball starts at $40 million. The record jackpot reached $588 million in November 2012.
