LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A man was stabbed to death Thursday night in an unincorporated area bordering South Los Angeles.

The incident was reported at 10:15 p.m. in the 1100 block of West 87th Street, according to Deputy Don Walker of the sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.

Deputies found the victim with multiple stab wounds.

Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

A witness said they saw the victim drinking beer with another person in the same area earlier in the night.

“About a half hour later, the same witness left his apartment and saw the victim lying on the west side of the location, bleeding from his injuries,” Walker said.

Authorities encouraged anyone with information about the death to contact the sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500.

The investigation is ongoing.
