Man Charged With Torture, Sexual Assault After Allegedly Attacking Woman With Chemicals

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — A Pasadena man who allegedly burned a woman with chemicals until she was unconscious and then sexually assaulted her was charged on Wednesday with torture, mayhem, and multiple sex-related crimes.

Pasadena police arrested 39-year-old Piotr Igor Dudkiewicz on Monday. He is being held on $1.4 million bail.

Police said Dudkiewicz reportedly met the 21-year-old victim in Los Angeles and convinced her to follow him to his home in Pasadena.

Once there, she reportedly agreed to pose for a picture wearing a motorcycle helmet at Dudkiewicz's request. Once the helmet was on her head, the victim felt a burning sensation on her skin. When she attempted to remove the helmet, Dudkiewicz reportedly held it in place until she lost consciousness. The victim awoke to the man sexually assaulting her.

Police were alerted to the assault by a 911 call Sunday morning. Before the call was disconnected, a woman stated that she was in Pasadena and had been burned and tied up by a male.

Police were able to trace the number to a residence in the 700 block of North Pasadena Avenue.

The residence was empty when police arrived but neighbors provided a name of the possible resident. A damaged door and a substance resembling blood were also reportedly found.

Later on Monday, LAPD notified Pasadena authorities of a 21-year-old victim suffering from severe chemical burns in a Los Angeles area hospital. Officers determined that she was the 911 caller.

Authorities say the victim suffered second and third degree burns. She remains hospitalized in serious but stable condition.

Police are seeking the public's help for information on the suspect. Individuals who may have had prior contact with Piotr Igor Dudkiewicz are urged to contact Detective Carolyn Gordon: (626)744-7113 or Pasadena Police: (626)744-4241
