SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are looking for a suspect involved Wednesday evening in a shootout with deputies.

It was unclear if the suspect was hit.

No deputies were injured in the incident.

The shooting occurred about 7:10 p.m. near Sarabande Lane and Dolan Way. Authorities said the suspect fired upon Santa Clarita Station deputies and they fired back.

The active search area borders Sierra Highway, Soledad Canyon Road and Sarabande Lane, according to officials.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 28 years old. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, gray shorts and a blue hat.

The type of gun the suspect is armed with is unknown.
