Search On For Suspect In Deputy-Involved Shooting In Santa Clarita

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are looking for a suspect involved Wednesday evening in a shootout with deputies.

It was unclear if the suspect was hit.

No deputies were injured in the incident.

The shooting occurred about 7:10 p.m. near Sarabande Lane and Dolan Way. Authorities said the suspect fired upon Santa Clarita Station deputies and they fired back.

The active search area borders Sierra Highway, Soledad Canyon Road and Sarabande Lane, according to officials.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 28 years old. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt, gray shorts and a blue hat.

The type of gun the suspect is armed with is unknown.

SKY9's Stu Mundel says the CHP joined the search. He reported that authorities believe the suspect was hit and that he is holed up in an apartment complex.

Authorities asked residents in the area to stay indoors until further notice.
