Man Arrested After Grabbing A Boy With "Abnormal Interest"

NORCO (CBSLA.com) — A Norco man is being held by police after authorities suggest he allegedly grabbed a boy and exhibited "abnormal interest" in him.

Marcos Alfredo Carrillo, 42, was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of misdemeanor annoying or molesting a minor and is being held on $3,500 bail.

The incident took place outside a horse corral in the 500 block of 6th Street, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

Deputies received the call around 2 p.m. to investigate reports that a man was harassing a child, according to sheriff's Sgt. Mike Manning.

The victim, whose name has not been released, alleged that Carrillo grabbed and held onto him.

The child was able to wriggle free and get away, at which point the suspect fled the area.

Carrillo was located quickly, however, and questioned, Manning said.

"Based upon the suspect's demeanor and actions, (he) seemed to be motivated by an abnormal interest in the juvenile," Sgt. Manning said.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and was booked into the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
