3 Elderly People Killed In Possible Murder-Suicide At Home In Hacienda Heights

HACIENDA HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — Three elderly people were killed during a possible murder-suicide Wednesday in Hacienda Heights.

Los Angeles Sheriff's Department deputies responded to a call at 9:08 a.m. from a man who said multiple people were shot at a house in the 15900 block of E. Ladysmith Street.

"The two females were found inside the house, one in the bedroom and one in a family room," Capt. Tim Murakami said.

Officials then found an 84-year-old man outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He died while en route to a local hospital.

Two guns -- a shotgun and a handgun -- were recovered from the scene.

Officials believe the man and one of the women, who was 80, were married. The other woman, who was 62, was the couple's daughter-in-law, according to officials.

The couple had lived in the home for at least 40 years, according to a neighbor.

"It's very quiet around here," Christina Clark said. "It's really really normally very very peaceful. What a tragedy."

There are no outstanding suspects, according to police. They are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide. They believe the man shot the two women and then turned the gun on himself. No motive was given for the crime.

No further details were released.
