Man Dead, Female Critical After Car Careens Off 91 Freeway

ARTESIA (CBSLA.com) —  An investigation was underway Friday evening into a deadly crash on the Artesia (91) Freeway.

A man was killed and a female was sent to a hospital in critical condition.

Both passengers were trapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated, according to Stu Mundel, reporting in Sky2.

The crash was reported at 10:32 p.m. Friday on the eastbound side of the freeway just west of Pioneer Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The gray Ford Mustang went over the right side of the freeway and crashed into a retaining wall.
