Concern Raised Over Convicted Rapist Working At Theater

PUENTE HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Residents are concerned after learning that a convicted rapist has been working at a local movie theater.

Adrian Zamarripa, 27, who was convicted of rape, has been working at an AMC movie theater in Puente Hills.

Zamarripa was listed on the Megan's Law database.

A former AMC theater employee was warned by another employee not to answer specific questions that Zamarripa was asking her.

The former employee reported him to management on Monday.

According to the former employee's mother, her daughter was fired the day after filing the complaint. She believes it is because she confronted AMC about Zamarripa.

"Management knows he's there, but the parents don't know he's there, and I'm here to let them know," the mother said.

AMC released a statement about the issue on Thursday:

"The individual in question was thoroughly investigated and we determined there was no risk to either our associates or our guests," the statement said. "If valid, corroborated new information becomes available, we will investigate again and take whatever action is appropriate. We take the safety of our guests and associates very seriously."
