LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Friday said a West Athens man was arrested after the alleged kidnapping of his girlfriend during a possible custody dispute involving their child.

The suspect, identified by authorities as 19-year-old Emmanuel Caballeros, was taken into custody about 2 a.m. near Century Boulevard and Hoover Street.

The unidentified 18-year-old female victim was with him at the time of his arrest, according to a statement issued by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

She was unharmed.

The statement said the woman had allegedly been taken about 8:30 p.m. Thursday from a home in the 1200 block of west 89th Street.

Caballeros was booked into the South LA Sheriff’s Station on suspicion of kidnapping. His bail was set at $100,000.
