DOWNEY (CBSLA.com) — Officials have announced the arrest of a suspect in the murder of a man whose body was found in a shallow grave along the 105 Freeway in Downey Sunday

The body was discovered about 4:45 p.m. on the westbound 105 west of Lakewood Boulevard, Sgt. Vince Rosario of the Downey Police Department said.

Authorities said Bryan Petty, described as a 22-year-old transient, was arrested as the murder suspect.

The victim was described as a male. No other information was released about the deceased.

Petty was transported to the LA County Jail. He is reportedly being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
