Several Snakes Found In Torrance Park

TORRANCE (CBS/AP) — Several constrictors were found in a Torrance park.

Police discovered abandoned snake containers in the "sump area" of Entradero Park at 5500 Towers Street Saturday.

Later that day, a live snake and a dead one were located.

On Monday, a civilian caught another live snake, and animal control officers collected four more nearby, as well.

Judging from the number of containers recovered, two snakes are unaccounted for, according to authorities.

Police believe the reptiles were part of a private collection.

Though the constrictors are not poisonous, they could be a threat to small dogs.

Anyone with more information on the incident was encouraged to contact Torrance Animal Control at (310) 618-3850.
