Suspect Sought Following Kidnap Attempt In Moreno Valley

MORENO VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — Authorities Saturday were searching for a man who allegedly tried to kidnap a 17-year-old girl as she walked to school in Moreno Valley.

Riverside County sheriff's deputies said in a department statement that the girl reported the April 11, incident to a Canyon Springs High School resource officer on Friday afternoon.

The investigation revealed that the teen was walking home about 4 p.m. Thursday on Ironwood Avenue near Pigeon Pass Road when a vehicle with several men approached.

"The suspect accosted the juvenile in an attempt to pull her into the vehicle. When the juvenile managed to free herself, the suspect and vehicle fled the area," the statement said.

The suspect was described by authorities as a black male adult between the age of 18 and 20. He is 5-feet, 6-inches tall and weighs 145 pounds.

He was last seen wearing a dark-sleeve shirt, tan shorts, and black shoes.

The suspect vehicle is a 2000-2005 white Honda Civic with peeling tinted windows.
